Weekend to now.

My turn again. I get so busy at work and posting from other news portal that I forget to post my own musings. Well I guess that I have to go back to the weekend. Saturday...it was a tad nippy, about 40*F so I just rode about 42 miles and called it a day. I REALLY wanted to swim, but it’s just to cold. Saturday night I had other family obligation so no ride with Carmen....bummer! Sunday, a little better, but still too cold for swimming but I did run after I rode. That ride was good; I met up with my friend Rusty and several other folks and hammered about 50 miles. But the best...I was able to go out with Carmen for a quick ride. On the way back...we had a pretty strong head wind so she decided to hammer a bit to get home faster. I swear she looks like a kid on her bike....it actually quite adorable. Anyways...that was fun and another great memory to have. Monday....swam. Oh yeah, it was cold still, about 57*F. I was crazy, but I got about 1000 yards in before I had enough. This morning I went out for about a 8 mile run...very good, just ran aimlessly throughout the neighborhood. Tonight I’ll go home and swim again. It’s slowly warming back up so it should be a little better.

Stairmaster...stairmaster, I figured that it was worth mentioning twice because that thing is a killer! But I like that sort of thing. I worked out for 30 minutes on level 11 and did 2760 feet and burnt 560 calories...that is in 30 minutes! A very fast way to burn off some fuel and get a good burn. The veins in my quads were just popping out! This morning’s ride was a tad uneventful. I rode 30 miles in 1 hour and 2 miutes which is a bout average for me now. My MP3 player ran out of battery so I was watching tv. Oh..hum. But a good couple of work outs. I’ll go home tonight and run...not sure but I think outside.

18th of January

Last might I went home and did my dog chores and went to run on the treadmill. I was all by myself in my gym. Anyway, I ran my 4 miles in 36 minutes for a 9 min.mile. Not bad, but I’ll have to start to pick the pace up to the sub 8 min/mile. But for now it will work, I have almost 3 months to work on speed. This morning I had a hard time motivating myself to ride the roller...but I did. I rode my 30 miles in 1 hour and 2 minutes for just over a 29 mph pace. That is good and I can’t complain. I have been sweating like a little piggy though on my roller..more than normal. Maybe I’ll trim down faster. Not that I have that much to loose off of my 132 pound frame! This weekend looks pretty good for some longer rides. Should be warm and the winds should be tolerable....75 degrees and winds 5-11 mph. I’ll plane to a good tail wind on the ride home. I’m excited for a 4-5 hour day in the saddle! That is why I do what I do during the week.
