Tri update


Well I did my first tri for the season and I finnished 9th overall ans 2nd place for my age group. I'll post times when I get them...but I smoked the cycling couse. I passed up everyone that I saw... Running was great too! I have to A LOT more swimming though. I probably could have placed top 3 over all if it wasn't for the swimming....but the season is early. A great day, a great race followed by a great steak as a treat!

Stairmaster...stairmaster, I figured that it was worth mentioning twice because that thing is a killer! But I like that sort of thing. I worked out for 30 minutes on level 11 and did 2760 feet and burnt 560 calories...that is in 30 minutes! A very fast way to burn off some fuel and get a good burn. The veins in my quads were just popping out! This morning’s ride was a tad uneventful. I rode 30 miles in 1 hour and 2 miutes which is a bout average for me now. My MP3 player ran out of battery so I was watching tv. Oh..hum. But a good couple of work outs. I’ll go home tonight and run...not sure but I think outside.

18th of January

Last might I went home and did my dog chores and went to run on the treadmill. I was all by myself in my gym. Anyway, I ran my 4 miles in 36 minutes for a 9 min.mile. Not bad, but I’ll have to start to pick the pace up to the sub 8 min/mile. But for now it will work, I have almost 3 months to work on speed. This morning I had a hard time motivating myself to ride the roller...but I did. I rode my 30 miles in 1 hour and 2 minutes for just over a 29 mph pace. That is good and I can’t complain. I have been sweating like a little piggy though on my roller..more than normal. Maybe I’ll trim down faster. Not that I have that much to loose off of my 132 pound frame! This weekend looks pretty good for some longer rides. Should be warm and the winds should be tolerable....75 degrees and winds 5-11 mph. I’ll plane to a good tail wind on the ride home. I’m excited for a 4-5 hour day in the saddle! That is why I do what I do during the week.
