Well…not to bad! I still had to work harder than I wanted to, but all in all, not a bad ride. It started out rather grey and cold…but by mile 30, the sun came out! O.k. the ride..I pretty much stuck to the same path as planed except that I added a small loop around the airport. And I’m glad that I did. I met up with a rider that just gave me the chuckles. What I mean is these posers that have just too much money for cycling. This guy..I’ll call him Mr. P..was all decked out with a $6000 bike, team outfit, $200 brinko sunglasses…getting a mental image. Anyway…I see this guy up the road a bit so I hammer away to catch up to him..hey I like meeting new people. This guy doesn’t even give me the time of day like I’m the hack! We’ll that didn’t sit well with me so I continued to hammer and left him behind like a prom date that gives you herpes!! Not talking from experience… Well the rest of the ride was pretty uneventful. I did get a great tail wind going south on US1 and River Dr!! My average for that span was 25….20 overall for the day…and yes I got my mileage that I wanted! 300 miles for the week and 1170 so far for the year! Oh, as a side note…today is Super Bowl Sunday so everyone was having a cookout. That means that I smelt bar-b-ques all day! Now I am craving a burger, might just have to give in to this one. I figured out that I burnt something like 16000 yes sixteen thousand calories this week just in riding…a burger won’t kill me, but this craving might! So my though of the day was that the bike, the clothes and the sunglasses doesn’t make the rider. It’s all about the legs and you can’t lie about that!
