OOOps

This site is down for a few while I move. Haven't really taken any time off from the bike but I just can't seem to find the time to catch up on my blog. Just to let everybody know...I did do the cross florida ride, survived and came in 10th. Not to shabby. I have some pictures and a few stories that I need to post. Maybe by the weekend, I'll have a free moment. Till then keep checking back...

The bar has been raised

Well it was a good morning. After getting a good nights sleep, I was able to get some real riding done in the ol' garage. I cranked out 40 miles at 26.1 mph pace. That's good and bad. I have a hard time as it is not pushing myself and I keep raining the bar....tough cycle. Now, if I find myself riding under a 25 mph pace..I kick myself in the ass and peddle faster. Then the next thing that I know I'm doing 32 mph to compensate. I say that I'm going to relax a bit more on my bike and just have a "workout" but it always turns into a race against myself....not sure who wins. As long as I enjoy my little work outs it's o.k....but at the same time, I don't want to burn out! Well at least my workout don't take as long as they used to...so that has been a positive outcome!!

Tuesday

Well after a well deserved day off I got back out to the garage.... I rode strong for 30 miles @ 27 mph. I plan on keeping the same schedule as last week but with a long ride on Saturday and a shorter ride on Sunday. I might even through in a 40 mile day or two during the week. Just not this morning....Couldn't sleep and got up about 3:30!! I have this upcoming weekend and the next is the Cross Florida! So I better get my miles in!

Nothing to write home about!

The weekend ended ok…I guess. No real stories to share this time. Saturday morning was rainy, windy, and just generally crappy so I stayed indoors and did 50 miles on the trainer. That went good. I kept a 26 mph pace…got the 50 done is good time and early enough to go enjoy the day! Sunday I decided to go out. It was cooler and windier than I had expected. I went up towards the Wild Life Refuge and to the Manatee bridge (about 30 miles from the house) and headed back. Like I said the wind was blowing me in the face at 14 mph…so kinda pooped me out a bit. Heading back was ok. The wind shifted a bit so instead of having a strong tailwind, I had a cross wind so I had to work hard in both directions. When I got home, I just wasn’t happy so I got on my trainer and rode another 40 miles to end the day with 100 miles (21.9 mph pace)….290 for the week and 3291 for the year (so far). Next weekend I will do another 100 if I have to do the whole thing on my trainer!!!

Friday!!

Another great ride! 30 miles in 66 minutes for an average of 27 mph. Not sure what's been motivating me. Legs feel strong, lungs are doing good! Not to sure about the weekend...Saturday is gouing to be clowdy and very windy, and Sunday just looks breezy. Not really going to plan a long ride and will just play it by ear and if thing improve...then I'm on my bike!!!
